St. James' Search Committee
Confidentiality Statement

Return to our Home Page

In order to protect the privacy of the candidates whose records we receive, and to avoid gossip about our deliberations, the Search Committee and Vestry impose upon themselves the following rules:

No information whatsoever about any individual candidate will be divulged, nor anything about the committee's impressions regarding the candidate, nor as to whether any decision on the candidacy has been made. Further, each committee member is responsible for safeguarding and ultimately destroying any materials given or notes taken during the course of the committee's work.

The committee is free to discuss the total number of names that have been submitted, the geographical range of the candidates and the general time frames of the process. The committee is not free to disclose gender, race, age, ethnic background, sexuality or other identifying information of any candidates being considered. Further, none of the aforementioned criteria will be a factor in the evaluation process.

The Search Committee has a clear mandate from the Vestry and the congregation at large regarding the calling of a new rector. The committee is deeply engaged in a process that we pray will call the best possible candidate to lead St. James. We see the parish as blessed in our dedication to St. James and fortunate to have the leadership of our Interim Rector, Father Edwards.
