The Bishop will be bringing names of potential candidates
for Rector for St. James to the Search Committee meeting on
Tuesday, March 6. He and Canon Hunt will conduct a
general discussion about such areas as confidentiality and
will outline some possible ways for the search committee to
proceed. If any member of our congregation has any potential
candidate names, now is the time to get them to the Search
Committee so that the Bishop can review them and present them,
if appropriate.
Four teams of four people (with each team containing one
vestry member) will be formed and ready to make visits to
viable candidates. We will keep you posted on progress with
regular up-dates at St. James' web-site and reports during
services in between monthly newsletters. |

The first meeting of the newly-formed District 1 was held
at St. James on February 13th. The Convener designated by
the Bishop was Kim Capwell, who was elected as the clergy
representative to the Diocesan Council along with Jack Reade,
from St. James, as the lay representative. Candy Brewster,
Carol McKinney and Jack Reade, St. James' elected/appointed
representatives were present, as well as representatives from
all District 1 congregations.
The next meeting of the District Council, which is open to
all church members in our district, will be held at the Crossroads
Camp at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 20th. District members
who participated in the Visioning Conference are strongly
urged to attend this meeting. A light supper will be provided
to all who attend. |
