ANNOUNCEMENTS
FUNDRAISING We have already begun to receive baskets and/or donations from the congregation and local businesses for our Tricky Tray on Saturday, October 21 st . We need everyone's support for a successful fundraiser! If you have any questions, please speak with Barbara Olesen or Barbara White.
SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE continues with one service only at 9:00 AM. Two services resume September 3rd .
EAM You have heard the stories of our latest Appalachian Work Camp. Our trip costs were $947. and your generous donations received were $650. There is still an opportunity to donate! Mark your envelope or check "EAM". We thank you!
PASTORAL EMERGENCY In the event of a pastoral emergency while the Rector is on vacation, please call the Rector's number (908.850.4549) and listen for instructions.
SUNDAY SCHOOL St. James' is looking for volunteers to help teach Sunday School. If you are able to give of your time for the very important ministry, please speak with Eileen Malejko or Kathy Lacouture.
NURSERY CARE COORDINATOR! Do you have small children? Do you remember when your children were small? We are looking for someone to coordinate nursery care for St. James' and individuals to volunteer one Sunday a month to assist with nursery care. If you are interested, or have any questions, please speak with the Rector, or call the church office (908.852.3968).
KEEP THE BELLS RINGING! Our bells, acquired used in 1983, are in need of refurbishing at a cost of $1875 (a new set costs $5025!) The vestry has committed the funds for this project from our Capital Improvement Fund, but as you know we have had several major projects completed in the past year. The vestry decided to ask for special donations for this cause, and were started off with a generous $1,000 contribution. To date, $1,395. has been raised. If you wish to join in this effort, mark your donation "bells."
KEEPING COOL! During these summer months, bottled water will be available in the narthex and the side entrance to the church during Sunday service. Please take a bottle of water!
SUMMER FLOWERS During the summer months, members are invited to bring a bouquet of flowers from their garden for display at the baptismal font. There is a sign-up sheet posted on the sacristy door. Vases are available on the back porch of the Mitcham House.
SUMMER STEWARDSHIP As a reminder during the summer months, you may prepay your pledge for the time you are away on vacation.
SAFETY FIRST Although the front steps of the church are completed, the new railings will not be installed for several more weeks. Please continue to arrive at church by the driveway on Moore Street and enter through the side sacristy door. Your safety is our first concern!
